Anna Wintour went on the Colbert Report last night  to talk about the opening of the Costume Institute’s “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” at the Met, opening yesterday. This interview shows a different side of Anna Wintour, a softer side from her stereotype of being a Tough Mogul in the Fashion Industry. By the way she looked ravishing with her signature bob and playful ensemble.

Wintour more than held her own against Colbert’s act, taking him to task for his boring fashion and getting in more than a few zingers. Wintour to talk about Obama recent endorsement of Gay Marriage, “I am thrilled. There were tears in the office of Vogue today in the support of gay marriage,” she said. “I think it’s a long overdue endorsement and we’re glad that he’s come forward finally.”

Taking Colbert to task for his boring fashion:

Colbert: Alright tough guy, I’ve got a bone to pick with you, you ready?
Wintour: Of course.
Colbert: With one hesitation you could destroy someone’s career.
Wintour: Don’t you think you could take a few more risks with the way you’re dressing?
Colbert: What are you talking about? My suit’s not buttoned and I went with a four hand knot, I mean that’s crazy, I should have at least have a half windsor.

On gay marriage

Colbert: You’re in the fashion world, are there gay people in the fashion world? Are you as angry as I am about this gay marriage thing?
Wintour: I am thrilled. There were tears in the office of Vogue today in the support of gay marriage…I think it’s a long overdue endorsement and we’re glad that he’s come forward finally.
After explaining who Schiaparelli was…

Wintour: I think she had a rather sad life…she planted seeds on her face so beauty would grow.
Colbert: Wow. That is heartbreaking but beautiful at the same time. Don’t suck me into your gay world! Don’t you make me have feelings for fashion young lady!

On the importance and relevance of fashion

Colbert: Clothes are commerce, that’s all they are.
Wintour: I think clothes also reflect the culture and the time. If you look at a great fashion picture say of the sixties it tells you just as much about what was going on in the world as a headline in the New York Times. Fashion is self expression. Fashion is really about, if you’re talking about a great designer like Miuccia Prada, she’s going far deeper than just simply things that you put on your back, she’s examining what’s happening in the world through art, through film, through music, and really that’s what this exhibition is trying to talk about

Colbert: Well I don’t really trust Prada. My understanding is, the devil wears Prada. And this is a Christian nation, Anna.
Wintour: That movie was so last year.

On letting go, over a pile of beer battered shrimp

Colbert: Is there ever a time when you can not care about fashion? Do you ever just say to yourself ‘To hell with this,’ put on your zebra striped sweatpants and go to Long John Silvers and lose yourself in a pile of batter fried shrimp?
Wintour: Well I haven’t done it recently but maybe now that you suggest it I should try?
Colbert: Perhaps you and I should go bobbing for french fries.
Wintour: Why not, it’s a date.

This year was an amazing red carpet from!

Beyoncé Knowles made a grand entrance in a lace Givenchy Haute Couture gown with a flowing train of indigo feathers, while Rihanna showed skin in Tom Ford.  Another one of my favorite looks was Solange she was gorgeous. The bright daisy color  Rachel Roy peplum dress was perfection, piece together with her big curls and minimum accessories. Solange truly understands the saying “Less is More”

She’s never one to miss out on a red carpet event, and Kelly Osbourne was an early arrival at tonight’s (January 29) 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Clad in a Badgley Mischka white matte crepe gown, the daughter of Ozzy Osbourne sported a sexy smile while working the red carpet.

With Versace resort wear, David Beckham’s undies and now Marni, H&M is on a roll in 2012.H&M’s collaboration with Italian womenswear label Marni was announced last November but is fast approaching. The colorful goods, which will surely reflect Marni designer Consuelo Castiglioni’s penchant for graphic prints and jewel tones, are set to hit stores on March 8.

Today we glimpsed pictures of Halle Berry shooting a shoe commercial… in Germany. The Hollywood star was on a set in Berlin, promoting her new line for German shoe chain Deichmann to be called 5th Avenue by Halle Berry.

I do not understand why Berry chose to launch a line with Deichmann, a brand I’ll admit we’d never heard of. I’m also not so clear on why Berry would have a shoe collection to begin with, seeing as she’s not famous for being high heel-crazy. But I know that she is an amazing actress and I wish her all the best, I just feel as if she could have chosen a better manufacturer.

For Spring, Oscar de la Renta gave us a crash course on all the reasons we love him. The taffeta ball skirts! Those handkerchief lace dresses! The embellished gowns! The pre-fall collection he presented December 5th on Park Avenue, served as a reminder that ODLR still has his charms when he’s performing in a minor key. Working this show gave me a closer look at the ODLR pieces and I was in love although, this line did not cater to his younger consumer the garments were pure genius. I have never seen a team work so hard, backstage was a rush! and for the first time I was not dressing the models, I was helping with his team fine tune the models before the went out. Of Course, All of ODLR shows are star-studded but seeing Fashions Elite grace his backstage was amazing, never thought I would be literally, inches away for Andre Leon Talley. Just as his spring collection sitting seats away from Anna Wintour. Being a spectator, Of both show I never though of ODLR as one of my favorite designers until I saw two lines first hand and I love his work.

Both websites have a variety of price points, but you can find a lot for a good price. With Karmaloop, you can always find promotonal codes from their Twitter or Facebook page and ASOS looking within their sales section you will find a plethora amount of gorgeous pieces at a nice price. On Karmaloop, the only difference is that it’s a online store that promotes a lot of different brands. If, you do not know many heres a few that I love to shop for: Cheap Monday, Motel, 80%20, Evil Twin, BB Dakota and more.

If you are Funky/ Trendy/ Vintage Fashionista, who loves to try something fun and new; The best online store would be 80s Purple, ShopNastyGal, Pixie and even ASOS. These four sites are my absolute favorite anything from distressed high waist shorts to Vintage Chic. The only thing is the price point for majority of their garments is $40 and above.

Lulu’s to me is not the best online store because you can find the same items in your local fashion boutiques, that’s if you have a good one by your home. But, sometimes I am able to find pieces that is really worth being added to my closet.

For the Brand- Obsessed Fashionista,Revolve Clothing is another online store that consist of a lot of brands but it is a little more high end compared to Karmaloop. This site is beneficial because there is always a sell on a lot of their items.

Over the past couple of years, I would have never thought of Brandy as a stylist individual but after spotting her at the Wendy Williams Show with a tweed Suits with shorts and  Chanel two-tone pumps, big bag and necklace gold; I can honestly say that I love this look on her.The singer and actress Brandy Norwood  exemplifies what a preppy look consist of, it actually reminds me of a style that would be seen in the CWTV series Gossip Girl.
